These offerings, many by internationally known poets, others appearing here for the first time in book form, reveal the healing power of human connection. They pray, give birth, make tortillas, love, write, lust, and do laundry. Collectively, they try to make sense of suffering: estrangement, loneliness, infertility, miscarriage, illness, aging, and the death of loved ones, finding strength in shared lives and voices.
