Beacon Acquisition:

Beacon is delighted to announce the acquisition of a new memoir by David Plante, author of more than a dozen novels and professor of creative writing at Columbia University. The Pure Lover is Plante’s powerful response to his life partner’s death of brain cancer. It is a book about grief, memory, loss, and above all, love. In it, Plante traces Nikos’s life, drawing on Greek themes from Nikos’s heritage, and ultimately tells their love story, culminating in his care of Nikos during his final days. Fall 2009.
