Beacon Acquisitions:

We have acquired a fascinating new book by journalist Fran Hawthorne entitled WHAT'S A GOOD LIBERAL TO DO?: Shopping, Investing, Voting, and Other Daily Dilemmas in the Age of Political Awareness. In this lively book, Hawthorne will define the confusing pressures bearing down on politically concerned consumers, dig into the sources of these pressures, and provide guidance to help liberal activists find their way through this minefield. Conversational in tone with Hawthorne offering her own opinions where appropriate as well as decisions from a variety of others, from store managers to everyday consumers, the book will replicate and enhance the conversations already happening across the country. We will publish on our Fall 2009 list.
