Beacon Press
Submission Guidelines
If you would like Beacon Press to consider your work, first familiarize yourself with our mission statement and our publications. Please note that we are not accepting submissions for new poetry, fiction, or self-help books at this time, and will not review, respond to, or return submissions of this type. Please also note that our publishing mission is currently general trade; some of our publications are trade books with scholarly crossover, but we are not currently accepting submissions for purely academic projects.
If you believe your work would be a good fit for our list, please send a cover letter, a well-developed proposal with a small writing sample, and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the address below. If you would like us to return your materials to you, provide appropriate postage. Do not send your full manuscript for consideration. There are a variety of excellent resources available via the Web and your local bookstore or library that detail the components of a strong book proposal.
Beacon does not accept unsolicited submissions via email or fax. Due to the large volume of unsolicited submissions we receive, we cannot accept phone calls or other inquiries regarding unsolicited submissions. Once we receive your submission materials, we will respond within approximately four months.
